 Our rides

Our rides explore the Central Highlands’ beautiful countryside. The roads are good, the landscape undulating, and there’s little traffic off the main roads. Routes are generally chosen on the day to get a tail-wind home, so each ride is different.

Join a ride

New riders are welcome to join a ride. The Saxons are well suited to riders looking to get fitter, because riders can move through the peloton to a faster Saxons group over time. Similarly, riders who have had a break or lost some form can always find their place in the Saxons bunch.

Rides head out at 8am. For more information on joining a ride send an email to saxons.ballarat<@symbol>gmail.com

 Fundraising legends

The Saxons win the award year on year for recruiting the most cyclists to fundraise for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute, at the Ballarat Cycle Classic

Disclaimer

The Saxons is a term that individual cyclists adopt to help coordinate riding activities, taken from the name of the building where rides start, Saxon House Mair Street Ballarat. The Saxons are not an association or an entity of any nature, and there are no members. Road cycling is a dangerous activity, and riders who choose to ride with the Saxons do so at their own risk.
